Gmc 2500 Ac Blower Noise

I have a 2003 GMC 2500 with a duramax engine. My wife had the air conditioning on and the blower started making a noise like a plastic bag was wrapped around the motor. Upon closer inspection, we found evidence of mice. Some of the insulation from the engine firewall has been chewed off. I suspect a mouse nest or even the mouse in the blower motor. How do I remove the motor for inspection and clean-out. Secondly, how can I keep mice out?

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. You should be able to remove the hush panel- 3 or 4 7mm screws, then remove the blower - 3 5.5mm screws. I would also remove the blower control module beside the motor and clean it off.
