V12 Engine?

I was looking at an auction on Ebay at a 1962 GMC firetruck. The seller claims this truck has a V12 gas engine. I have never heard of one of those in a GM truck. I am wondering if it is a V6 (As I would expect) with dual ignition like many firetrucks have. Any comments?

That sound weird! never heard of a v12 in a truck before!

No, I haven't found one. I really want one to play with though.

It was not two engines linked together. It has a one piece block, But four cylinder heads, four exhaust manifolds, and two intakes and carbs.

I know they did a Falconer V12 in a 84-96 vette I think they called it the ZR12 . but it was a one off though. Does anyone know if John Moss has done a '99-up pickup ?

I didn't think anyone knew about or remembered the V12 concept vette.  Yes John Moss has played with the Silverado.  He placed a 6.0 liter engine in the half ton single cab in '99 and called it an SS the Chevy hated.  He did it again in 2000 on an extra cab and stuck in the Borg Warner T56 and Chevy scrapped that.  John Colletti at Ford definately gets more respect from Ford than Moss does.

There's a pretty cool stepside single-cab shown in this months Hot Rod Mag, but it's only briefly mentioned in the article.  Forget the specs off the top of my head, but I'm sure it was a ripper!!

Read a little blurb in Popular Hot Rodding last night, Chevy is developing a new V-12 based on the Northstar technology.  I forget what the displacement was supposed to be, but it will have all kinds of tech tricks, like displacement on demand, variable exhaust valve timing, and variable intake tract length.

Supposed to be super-smooth!
