Silverado Lt2 Vs Sierra Sle2

anyone have any idea why a sierra SLE2 is about $1k cheaper than a silverado LT2? it looks to me like the SLE2 is at least as well equipped as the LT2 if not better, but there's a pretty big price difference.

i'm buying either one of these when the new incentives come out next week, so i'm trying to figure out if there's something i'm missing here.

and i tried to search, but i guess i suck at searching, because i didn't find much.

dont know the answer to your question but why are you waiting for the new incentives? are they going to be better?

GMC truck have always been the premium truck and priced accordingly, they usually have the better looking front end and thats where the higher price is.

That makes no sense at all. The scenario you present is opposite what the OP is seeing.

Sierras typically see smaller sales volumes than Silverados. As such, I would assume that during a period with significantly reduced demand for full-size trucks, it is requiring a larger price cut in order to move the less popular (albeit classier:D) Sierras off the lot. I have no proof of that but that is my gut feeling.

i'm not comparing the "deals" i'm being offered, but the MSRP. and the MSRP on the GMC Sierra SLE2 seems to be about $1k cheaper than the MSRP on the Silverado LT2.

and yes, i'm expecting the incentives to get better next week.

I don't have a clue then but look a gift horse in the mouth! Take the Sierra and RUN!!! :jester:

I'll agree with that!

I'd say as much as the Silverado LT2 and the Sierra SLE2 seem similar...there has got to be some sort of difference in equipment that might possibly overlooked. For example when I was selling these a while back, I remember the Silverado and Sierra while being the same truck had different option packages.....for example one that comes to mind was a Silverado LTZ came with the Remote Start Option standard, where the Sierra's you had to order the Conveinence Package($540).....by doing this you got the Backup Sensors and Power Pedals on the Sierra, where as on the Silverado you had to order the Saftey Package($715) which came with the Power Adjusting Pedals, Backup Sensors, and Head Curtain Airbags if I remember right.....then on the Sierra the Curtain Bags were a Free Flow Option at($395)....hope this isn't too confusing, but in the end you could generally come up with a little bit of difference in the $$....sometimes only a couple hundred bucks....sometimes closer to $1K....my advice would be to look at the Standard Vehicle Price on the Top of the Sticker....then work my way down trying to find the differences.

yeah, that is mind blowing when pricing the options and comparing. When I was shopping, one of the local dealers who carries both brands, lined up a fulled loaded LTZ and SLT, they were exactly equal on equipment. When going down the options list with the pricing, everything was different, as you just described. The LTZ was $1200 more than the SLT.
