jdolotina Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I was wondering what everybody's thought was on a Corsa Touring single out 4.0" double tip side exit exhaust. I have decided to get Corsa for sure, but not sure whether to get the sport or touring edition. I am wondering to if I would be losing any low-end torque to this mod. I also have the AEM brute force CAI which was a very nice addition. Also, does anyone have any crazy vibrations through the frame, or is there minimal vibrations from this exhaust? Also, should I install the exhaust myself or let a n exhaust shop do the work and weld everything together? Thanks for your opinions. Josh
geektoad Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I don't know about everyone else, but i've heard that trucks with Corsa exhausts on them make a weird noise. the best way to describe it is when you take off from a stop it goes: seeeeeeeeeeeaaaaarch...searchSEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAARCHseeeeeeaaaaaarch

jdolotina Posted August 15, 2008 Author Posted August 15, 2008 I guess I set myself up for that one. I was trying to avoid sifting threw the hundreds of threads for just Corsa and the 6.0L. I know everytime I look at these forums it gets old seeing the exhaust threads too. Oh well guess I will start looking threw the search results. Josh
silverbullet2005 Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Get with Z71chev he has a Corsa "sport" exhaust on his NBS.
MS3DALE Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Go with the "Sport",The "Touring" is too quiet. A buddy of mine has the "Touring" system on his '06 VMAX and I don't think its any louder than the stock system he had on it. I've had the "Sport" system on the last three trucks I've had. I was afraid the touring system would be too quiet,I'm totally happy with my sport system,Its not too "loud" at all...I love it!!
skp05 Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I won't beat you up about the search, just because I agree with you about the 6.0 vs corsa exhaust. I have the NBS Vortex max with the CORSA touring. I went with the touring because I tow a 6500 lbs boat and I didn't want to hear that much when towing. Under cruise, it really sounds like stock. The kit installs easily and the stock kit can be removed without cutting, you just have to take the spare tire off for room. Once that's done, put the tire back on and install the Cosra. I found it to be one of the highest quality kits I have installed. It really fits well and looks sharp. The 6.0 really has a different sound vs. the 5.3, especially when AFM is on. The Corsa system has the flex pipe which allows the system to work like stock and vibration is the same as stock under AFM. I had two Gibson kits on the 6.0 and they sounded and fit like crap.

Well thats cool the touring is quiet during cruise, but how about when you romp on it. Does it sound just as loud as say a flowmaster? How long did it take for you to install it? Thanks again, Josh
MS3DALE Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I had two Gibson kits on the 6.0 and they sounded and fit like crap. This is SOOOOO true! I had two Gibson systems,One my '97,& one on my '99,I took the one off my '99 after a year and replaced it with a CORSA. I even had the stainless systems and they still rusted, cheap stainless!..you get what you pay for!!
ws6_guy Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Corsa.. ehh.. true dualed Flowmaster Super 44s, oh yeah!

That's what I like about it, quiet under cruise, loud when you want to get into it. It took about 1.5 hours to install ( removal of old/ install of new).

omegafiler Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I've had both the Sport and Touring with the 6.0l. So obviously only my opinion really matters here. The Corsa Sport system sounds very awesome with the 6.0l. My only complaints were that it tends to sound raspy at WOT, its almost too loud and aggressive for a daily driver, and there was still minimal drone at highway speeds. This was only an issue on long trips with people/cargo adding extra weight where the drone does get to you after awhile. But keep in mind that the drone was still nothing compared to something like my old Magnaflow system, for example. Not to mention, I'm very picky. Also, SUV's tend to be a little more sensitive to drone vs. a truck. I have the Corsa Touring system right now and I love it. No raspy sound, no drone, not too loud, and it sounds great. Basically, its just a little louder than stock. I only wish I had gone with this system from the beginning. You can check out the exhaust clips in my sig. But obviously the Sport sounds way cooler. It just didn't work out for me and many other folks who have the drone happy 6.0's. And as for loss of low end torque. Not really. As with any free flowing exhaust, it might give you the impression that you've lost some throttle response at initial tip. But there is still more HP/TQ across the entire RPM band, in particular once your PCM has adjusted for the free flowing exhaust. Even more so if you have it tuned.

Thanks for putting in the time. After looking at initial search results I saw your thread and videos, and really you are one of the few that even has a video with both sport and touring models. I had a Flowmaster Delta 40 on my 04 Silvy. and after a while the drone just got old. I really want something quiet and reserved at cruising speeds, and the touring seems to fit the billet. However, when I get on it, I want to hear in and out the truck. Coupled with my Nelson tune and CAI this addition would be nice. On another note it must have been expensive moving from sport to touring. Then again thank god for Ebay.
