Auto Power Up Windows

Most of the cars I have owned all had auto up and down on at least the driver side window. I have the NBS silverado and i have an auto down button but it doesn't go auto up. Does anyone know of a relay or another vehicle switch that will fit and work with my truck? even if i could rewire it that will do also. Thanks

I could be wrong but I don't know of any car out there that has the auto up of the window because of safety issues, I mean I could be wrong but I have auto down on my drivers side and thats it, unless the newer trucks have the auto up feature but I wouldnt think they would do that because of safety.

Some vehicles do have auto-up, and most windows have a safety feature that blows a fuse if it detects excessive resistance on the motor.

Sorry I can't answer your question but yeah a lot of cars have auto-up windows. My step-dads jaguar s-type has auto-up and auto-down on every window.

My Audi has auto up and down on all four doors. You can put your hand in and hit the switch. When it gets to your hand it stops and rolls back down a little. Doesn't hurt at all. They are really sweet.

Directed Electronics makes a window module that will do what you want.

Window Control Module

Window Automation System

(530T, 529T)*

The 530T Window Automation System controls the operation of two windows in both directions. The 530T can automatically roll up two power windows when a security system is armed, and will provide “one touch” up and down operation for both factory power window switches.*

I had an '05 Civic that had auto-up windows and was curious what it'd take for it to sense an obstacle and go back down. I put my finger at the top of the window. The window went all the way up the track, but my finger pushed the glass away from the door frame and was stuck. LOL, dumb idea! I should have tested with something less fragile, like my passenger's hand.

What was weird about that car is that it had the auto-up windows that had no problem trying to pinch your fingers off, but the sun-roof had this weird safety thing. You'd hold the button to close it, and it'd close half way then stop. You had to release the switch, then press and hold it again to fully close the sun-roof.

<br />would love to have this feature in my truck.. can use my hand in those seem-to-be-long seconds for something else <img src="style_emoticons/default/cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /><br />

What would you be doing with your hand in this couple extra seconds????
