Gm Recall For Heated Windshield Wash

I must be a sleep, when did this recall come out? Is it for all vehicles with the heated windshield wash system.

 

Yeah I guess I was too cause this is the 1st that I have heard of this.

Is this for US vehicles only or US/canadian?

Guess I will phone the dealership and ask about it.

Guys, there are at least 3-4 other threads that have popped up in the last 2 weeks about this. Search for recent recall threads (within the last 2-3 weeks) and you'll find a ton of info about this.

No parts are out yet,They won't be out until November at the soonest.

Until then you are to remove the fuse for the heated washer fluid.

I think not

 

By November I will have melted 10 pounds of Alaskan ice from my glass with my kick ass heated fluid, sir!

 

or

 

Melted 5700 pounds of fine Americana into a puddle in my driveway...whichever comes first

Not in Alaska but in Missouri we get all that good ol' freezing rain and I will have melted about a foot of ice off the windshield by then. I agree, if it melts there is something really wrong, more that just an inline fuse on a new wiring harness can fix.

Man...what did we all do before heated washer fluid :lol:

Warm up water on the stove (not TOO hot), put it in a pitcher, and do it that way...? :lol:

 

Having IT do the heating is much better, though. Much less likely to get wet this way, with water splashing around, etc. :lol:

I already brought my truck in and they told me my vin was not on the recall list. I dunno it still makes me alittle on edge about the whole thing.

Wish I had heated washer fluid :crackup: Not sure what I would use it for except maybe bugs or to get a 09.

There's no way I'm pulling my fuse either. :dunno: By the end of this month I'll be melting major frost and ice off my windshield in the morning, and there is no way I'm scraping it if I don't have to.
