Steering Play Nbs, Rack Question

Hey, I have been trying to find a steering play issue on my truck for a while. When I have it up on the rack at work, I cant seem to find any play. The only thing I can see move more than what seems would be normal is the steering rack when the wheels are on the ground and you turn the wheel back and forth it seems to move a little. The truck is a 03 silverado 4.8 2wd SCSB with 65k miles. Any help with this would be great.
