I'm getting a smell in the cab when I run the blower on high, smells like burnt wires ... Could it be a Blower motor ?

Probably the connector for the resistor located near the blower motor...it's been a well documented problem.

It could also be the resistor itself. I've had to replace mine because I lost the lowest speed.

im resurrecting this thread cause ive had a blower resistor in my 2003 z71 ext cab problem once before and its been for way too long now and ive just been using the heat intermittently on high (pita) but now i have chirp out of the blower motor. so i know whats going on, my motors taking a crap from my negligence. But in my defense ive been trying to save up for my abs module cause my light is on and both my rear disc shields disintegrated when i was replacing the brakes last summer ( 10 dollar shields, $400 worth of labor to remove the shafts. ouch)

So my real question is when i went to get the resistor i mentioned its my second one and the parts guy told me that it could very well be the harness to the resistor, anybody heard of that? the harness is $95 from the stealership. looks like im gonna be replacing the resistor, harness and the motor. im lookin at another $200. im sad!

I ordered better than new rebuilt ecbm abs module from this guy for around $175.00. You can save yourself many hundreds of dollars and get a better unit if you buy from him rather than replacing with a new one that is no better than the one that failed.
