A\c System Sealant

I know this comes at the end of summer but I think it will be a bigger problem next year. I am hoping to get this pinned somewhere but I don't really know where to put it. I asked a friend that works at an after market parts supplier if people are using the refrigerant charges with leak sealer. He said it's the only thing they are selling. If people see two cans of refrigerant and one has the potential to seal leaks and one doesn't then the sealer seems like the one to choose. I would like to caution you against this, I think the stuff is crap. That is my opinion I know, but if I find out that it's been put in there I will not work on the system at all. Take a look at

if you watch the whole video I am sure you will see that taking the cheap road in this case can lead to the very expensive road. I know most of the video is aimed at technicians protecting shop equipment but pay attention to min 2:55-3:05 these are shots of what happens in the vehicle when moisture gets in, at 3:03 you see a compressor killed by the sealer. If you only had a pinhole and wanted to seal it and were never ever going to service the system again then fine use it. But if it doesn't work and you have to open the system you introduce moisture and will cost yourself alot of money.
