Anyone notice how crappy the speakers are in the 08 crew cab?? (non bose)

They have blown up twice already on me. Went back to the salesmen and he offered to put in Pioneer speakers for 125/per door. I told him that was way to much. Waiting to hear back on Monday. I dont see why they would not cover the install under warrenty if I buy the speakers.

Certianly better then going back every week with the $20 speakers in it now.

Yeah, they were really pathetic. One of mine sounded blown when it was brand new. With the price of trucks today, it's inexcusable to use such a cheap speaker. I wish they would lose some of the worthless crap like Onstar, and spend that money on things that we actually use. One of the first things I did to my new Silverado was to replace the stock speakers with these Alpines: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Ite...17C2&tp=105 They sound very good; it's hard to believe that they were only 50 bucks a pair. Crutchfield gives you everything you need, including the adapter plates and wire harness adaptor (no cutting wires, just plug them in). Let us know if you need any help to R&R the door panels.

Hmmm....I had a 45 min ride to my friends house last night. I was rocking out to some Joe Walsh and Gov't Mule and said to myself "these speakers sounds pretty good." I tend to listen to music loud and haven't had a blown speaker yet.

No offense, but do you have hearing damage? Unless someone put the Bose in your truck by mistake, those stockers sound terrible.

And exactly how does someone "rock out" to Joe Walsh? Tune in to XM42, and then you can rock out!

Different people have different needs when it comes to audio. Even the Bose system sounds like hell to me.

is it possible to install bose sistem to a truck non-bose?

thank you

Probably, but it's not worth it. For probably less money and a lot less effort, you could put it in a really nice aftermarket system.

Hell yeah! Warren Haynes is a frikin beast. They're awesome live too, just wish I had gotten to see them before Allen Woody left us...

How much would you be willing to spend?

A $100 set of components and a $150-200 amplifier would blow the Bose system out of the water.

I have the non-Bose system and have no complains. I've heard my dad's Bose system and to be honest I can't even tell a difference besides the crappy subwoofer.

Same here I'm 20 and I like my music loud and I use to have two 12s and I think the non-Bose sounds fine just as good as my parents Navigator.
