Back Up Lamp Relay

I have a NBS 2008 Yukon XL. I have Electrical Manual Schematics for 2008 Light Duty Full Size C/K Trucks, that I printed from a link on this site. In these schematics they show a BACKUP LAMP RELAY and it is location is 'Fuse Block Underhood". According to the label on the cover of the underhood fuse block there is no such relay. I guess the schematics that I have don't quite apply to my vehicle and the real schematics from HELM Inc. are not available yet.

Does anyone know if there is such a relay in my vehicle and if so where is it located. I am trying to engineer a feature I added to my '96 Yukon, where I could turn on the backup up lights when in park, so I had lighting while connecting a trailer and more inportantly loading snowmobiles at night.

If there is already a relay in the system that would be open when in park then I can add a relay to apply power to the same line when in park. I have seen other people attempt this wiring on this site, but they were only trying to light aux lights on the rear of the truck and they gave up trying to get the backup and aux lights both ON while in Park. I am fearful of doing damage if the line goes directly to the ECM without a relay.

In case it makes a difference here is my VIN 1GKFK16338J224420.

Thanks for your help. The folks on this site are the most helpful and respectful of any similar site that I have visited.

Can you provide a link to the diagram that you have. I think the problem your having not getting any responses here is that we were just told to not republish anything on this site and for your question you would need the proper diagrams. Give me the link and I'll let you know if you are looking at the right thing. Welcome to the site :) .
