Gm Owners Link Site

I apologize in advance if this topic has already been discussed but I did a forum search and didn't find anything. I used to keep all my service records and notes on the GM Owners link web site. I tried to go to it today to see my records only to find that the site has been eliminated and taken over by Yahoo. I signed in to find that none of my old records exist with Yahoo.

Is there any way to recover my original service records? Or, am I out of luck?

Thanks.

From their Terms & Conditions: "information about your vehicle and your GM accounts will be maintained by GM and used in accordance with the GM Privacy Statement"

I just logged-in for the first time since Apr 1, 2008 (when it appears they changed their hosting to Yahoo), and I too am missing all my previous info.

I contacted them ([email protected] or 1-866-MYGMLINK) and they said they'll look into this. They've had a few complaints after they switched hosting to Yahoo they lost some account information.

They also mentioned that if you hadn't logged in for quite-awhile before the switch then they may have not converted a "inactive" account, so my guess is I'm SOL.

Thanks, Andy. I'll call, too, and let you know what response I receive. My local dealer didn't even know there was a switch to Yahoo hosting.

I too liked the old site better.

Add one more to the list of people that lost information! I don't believe that it had anything to do with your last sign in.

I lost information on 3 vehicles with the newest one just turning a year old. Checked their help section and they suggested looking under "other" records, never did find them.

GM could have sent an e-mail notifying customers about the changes so we could have printed hard copies of the records and migrated the files to Yahoo ourselves.

I never saw the old owners site but the current site is a giant ad to buy a new car/truck. WTF

I just bought a new truck I do not want /need a new car/truck nor can I afford a new car/truck.

There so far is not any useful info, for example I have an outstanding recall but on the web site no outstanding recall is listed.

It can't even provide me a picture of a truck similar to mine it just tells me picture is not avl. Hey its just a black crew long 4x4 2500 hd truck.

I hope GM is making money on this site.

Are you guys talking about www.gmownercenter.com/gmc ?

Yep, that's the one. When you login, it makes you login with a Yahoo ID.

I'm not impressed either way. Still won't let me add a GMT900 Sierra via my VIN. The pic and info is from the older body style (nothing wrong with it, just not MY TRUCK MODEL)

Same for me. I only used it a few months before the switch, but I'm not signing up for another ID for something that doesn't really benefit me.
