Might Buy Another Pickup

Monday night, at my work(new-car-store), we took in a 01 Silverado on trade.

 

I thought about purchasing the truck--not for me--but for my Dad.

 

My Father retired in December from his job...he was a Superintendant at a large Construction Company located here in town. He was employed by this company for almost 38 years.

 

When he was with the company, he always had a "company" truck to bring home after work. I remember him bringing home alot of F150's, Dodge Rams, and a selection of GMC's also. His last company truck he drove was a nice little S10...

 

When he retired, the next day the Company came by and picked up the S10...and my Pa actually seemed a bit bummed out.

 

SO, it would be a "gift" to him.

 

What's this fella worth??

 

2001 Silverado 1500, Ext Cab, Z71, Pewter, 5.3, 4x4, split bench in front,139k miles on her.

 

She needs a passenger front hub bearing, a good bath, tires, and some exterior light bulbs.

 

I already spoke with my Boss about this (he's the General Manager at this dealer) and turns out we are a little "heavy" on the money invested in this truck. Turns out the store assigned a $7000 value to this, which I declined to agree to as a purchase price.

 

"If it sits here, I'm a player and will deal on it, but not for $7k" is what I told my boss. He agreed.

 

I know, when the time is right, he'll approach me, and we can do a deal on this truck.

range from 4500 to 7000. depends on the condition, but if it looks nice and it is properly checked out, I would offer $5000 to $6000

Do you need a adopted "Dad" for a little while! A few years back I gave my Dad my 1993 reg cab long bed 2WD when I got my 2002 p/u. That thing is still in great shape. Now it only has 122K on it. Perhaps the best one I've ever owned, and I have owned 7 chevy half-tons! Myabe I can work something out with him!

I'm not sure what it is worth in your region but I bet it'll be worth a lot to your Dad.

A most definite cool thing to do for him! What a great son he has!

 

Price wise, depending on condition I'd have to say from $5000-7000ish. Just keep in mind that there are going to be a few things breaking on that truck with those miles, but engine wise it will be solid!

I dont know anything about American prices, but I do know that's an awesome thing to do for your dad. If you didn't like him so much, you could have always bought him a toyota.

I'll echo everyone else and say that would be a really awesome thing to do for your Dad. And like everyone else, a price in the 5k to 7k range depending on condition.
