Lowering An 03 Silverado

I have a 2003 reg cab short 2wd silverado and was wondering what was the best way to lower it and what is the widest tire i could put on it.

not slammed just maybe like 2/3 drop so i can still get a decent ride but get alil more of an aggressive look and hopefully handle better

You have a few choices. For the front you can change front springs (shorter) or change the spindle housing (generally requires 17"+ wheel also). For the rear you can go with longer shackles (2" drop) and replace front spring mounts (additional 2"). Check the websites Belltech, DJM, McGaughy's, Eibach etc. for details. Generally come in kits or can source separately. Fitting a tire in the wheel well depends on the wheel offset you are using and if you need the same size front and rear. Lots of room in the back, the front is a different story if you want a tall tire. If you want to improve handling consider larger and additional sway bars (you lose some independence in the front suspension but flatter cornering). Go with front and rear for best effect. Addco, Hotchkiss and Hellwig are some brand names to look at. The standard OE shocks are gas charged and OK but if you want to improve go with Bilstien, Tokico etc. Good Luck!!!

Yea the tire height doesnt matter much to me, i just dont want to give up too much ride comfrot but o i guess it wont be too bad cause i dont want the truck slammed just lowered for a sport look and eliminate some body roll, but i will def look into the sway bars and a few other things, i thank you for all your help
