Hey,

just registered and am looking for some help. My 2001 Silverado keeps burning out daytime running lamps. There appears to condensation inside the lens that , over time, builds up and splashes on the bulb consequently burning it out. I have siliconed around the whole of the light assembly and checked for leaks but am still having this problem. Any ideas??

Welcome to

Is the light socket tight? Could the water be getting in from there?

Where in Eastern Canada are your from ? NB, NS, PEI or Newfie-land ?

Hi there and welcome to GM Trucks from a fellow Canuck! :D

You probably have a leak around the bulb base where it mounts into the light housing if the rest of the housing is sealed up.

my wifes old shitty taurus continually had water in the headlights, (enough to house a goldfish!) causing bulb faileres, i had those in and out so many times to seal them! the only thing i found that helped was to drill a small hole in the bottom, and they actually stayed pretty clear after that....good thing i don`t have that POS anymore!

Welcome!! :D My '99 sierra had this problem and it turned out to be the seam where the clear lens joins the face of the light housing, I used silicone all the way around the light housing and all was well after that. Goodluck!!

Thanks gang. I think I might try the hole drilling trick and see what happens. What a great sight!!

I am posting from Newfoundland to those wondering.

I thought so, based on your name.

I'm originally from Grand Falls.
