Hello all,

I have a new body style 2007 silverado extended cab truck. It came with Onstar but not with XM radio. I want to install a Serius docking station and was wondering about the antenna hook up. Is it possible to use the onsat antenna ( a little shark fin looking thing on the roof ) for the serius \ XM radio somehow? I really didn't want to istall another antenna with an external wire. Do anybody have any ideas about this. Thanks for the replys. AJ

You cannot use the Onstar-only antenna. GM does make an Onstar/XM antenna, but I don't know if it is available other than with the XM kit. Maybe check the junk yards if it's not available separately through GM.

After doing little digging and talking to several people, it seems that GM makes and "add-on" kit for late model trucks that didn't come with xm radio. The local dealer found the part numbers but couldn't give me to many details on the parts and installation.

I should know more in a day or so.

Thaks, Aj
