Heard A Clunk

Yesterday, I was driving home, about 50 mph and let of the gas for a period of time in anticipation of stoping at a stop light. The vehicle speed coasted down to about 30 I guess and the light turned green. I eased the pedal down to regain speed and I heard a "clunk". First impression was a U joint was going bad. It felt and sounded as if the transmission slipped and then caught. Any Ideas?

Did a search for slip yoke and most of the trouble I read about was refering to being completely stopped with your foot on the brake and feeling a bump, as if you were rearended. Will just re-greasing this make the problem go away?

I've had the same effect in my '06 1500. If you coast just right and then give it gas, you'll feel the clunk. After over 2 years of owning the truck, it usually does not happen. I suspect this is because I have gotten used to feeling when the tranny shifts up or down so I know when to or not to give gas to avoid it.
