It's much easier and cheaper to dump the excess acid and lead into the rivers and streams of Mexico than USA.

 

Just don't drink the water when visiting Mexico!

Considering one of the systems I worked on helps to dilute the acid/gel for disposal, I can happily say they do not do that kind of stuff.

First one I took back for exchange. Second one I took back for refund. The dealer was very cool but he had a bunch of dead ones that he had replaced. Went with a DieHard and that was over 2 years ago. I always thought optima was good but my experience won't have me buying another one.

Why don't all the f-ing green-nicks start taking THAT up. Between China and Mexico, the level of contamination from those two countries has to be 10x the rest of the world combined.

 

We legislate ourselves out of business, and let those #$%^es do whatever they want. There should be legislation that requires that imported goods be proven to be manufactured to the same environmental standards that we would require of a domestic plant. IF not, no takey.

 

Walmart would be buying everything domestic again (Just like Sam did in their glory days). That poor guy must be spinning 10,000 rpm in his grave...seeing what happened to his buisness. Remember when they proudly flew the american flag there?????

Certainly a hot topic. I'm not a Wally world regular. A few times a yr, I'll look for shotgun ammo there. They have the cheapest ammo in my area and I shoot plenty at targets and hunting.

 

China is much like we were 50-75 yrs ago. All growth and not much regulation on polution, codes, etc.. They are rapidly changing toward those things, but it takes time. After visiting there a yr ago and working with their aviation government, I feel they are headed in a better direction than the days of isolationism. There's no doubt, Their growth will be costly to the world. But likely not as costly as the potential in the Cold War days. The general population there want all the same things we want.

 

I've been buying Die Hard batteries for decades and have not had any problems with them. I"m on about 5 yrs on one in the 99 GMC.
