White meat here. The dark usually ends up going into a casserole afterwards. When either I or the wife cooks the turkey, its breasts are never dry and always juicy.

I'm thinking I may get a fryer and give that a try next year.. I've been curious for a while now. But, there's no WAY they would've let me try that at the apartment complex!

I fried our bird last year, it was the best f'ing turkey I've ever had. It was well worth standing out in 10 degree weather for an hour to cook it.

 

I had wanted to fry it again this year, but the wife is 8 months pregnant, and on total bed rest. We had an Albertson's precooked dinner instead. It really wasn't bad, but I'm waiting for a chance to fry another turkey next year.

Tried it several times and it's good but frying will never beat a properly smoked turkey.

That was *exactly* my question. But my vote goes for white meat - nice juicy breast...now you can take that any way you want.
