Wheels And Tires

I'm installing the RC 2" leveling kit on my '08 Sierra Crew Cab 2WD in the next few weeks. In the meantime, I'm trying to decide what I should do concerning wheels and tires. Initially, I was going to keep the stock 20' wheels and put on some Cooper Zeon LTZ, 275X55R20. However, I'd really like to get aggressive. My questions is whether dropping down to an 18 inch rim will allow me to run 33 inch tires, preferably mudders. I'd really like to go with the 18X9 XD Spy wheel and 33X12.5-18 Toyo Mud Country. Will I rub like a mad man?

18s and 20s both look great, and both wheels sizes will alow you to run a 33"

 

Perhaps i don't understand why you want to drop down to an 18 to run a 33.

 

275/60R20 is one size of a 33" tire for a 20" rim.

 

Whichever way you go, I am sure you will be pleased.

20 inch wheels with a 33" all terrain tire.

or

18 inch wheels with a 33" mud tire

 

With the 2" leveling kit, I should be able to clear either tire, given the rim size...right?

You should be good with a leveling kit as long as you run a wheel no wider that 9 inches with +20mm offset or more.

 

EDIT: I'd keep the 20s if you arleady have a set.

It's so hard to make up my mind. I'm not sure if I want to change rim styles, rim sizes, tires, all of the above, or some combination of those.
