Clockspring

What is the procedure to replace the clockspring on an 08 Silverado? Any pictures. It is part #15829094. I hate to admit it, but I broke mine while replacing my steering wheel. A simple job turned into a big job! Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the link to replacing the clockspring, but it doesn't sound like the same year/style clockspring as an 08. I don't have any screws to remove, that I can see. And as to why I replaced my steering wheel. I wanted steering wheel radio controls. I actually bought a wheel with the controls and switched the parts that I needed, so I could keep my same wheel. My truck only has 1600 miles on it. Thanks for the info.

I do not mean to take over this thread at all, but Just have a question referring to this.

I have been told that my clock spring is bad in my 03 Suburban. Here are the symptoms that I have. My DIC computer controls, audio controls, and cruise control do not work most of the time. The ABS light is always on also. Would the Clock spring cause these issues?

Thanks,

Bryan

Most likely, since the clock spring is the connection in between the steering wheel controls/ airbag and the bcm.

I replaced mine, is very easy, just remove the steering wheel plastic covers, where the turn signal lever, ignition switch and shift lever are, there's 2 of them one on top and one on the bottom, they don't have screws, they click together with plastic tabs, just apply pressure on the side and pull them apart, remove the lock washer on the clock spring, disconnect it from the back, and run the long black wire along the steering wheel shaft, thats the airbag connector, it connects under the lower dash, if u already have the new part you'll figure it out the connections after removing the old one.

Thanks for the help on replacing the clockspring. It was a pretty easy job, afterall. I tried earlier to post a "Thank You" with pictures, but had trouble getting the pictures to upload. I even downsized them. This is a great site for help and information. Thanks
