2007 Suburban Ltz Hard To Accelerate, Too Many Rpms

hi,

i have a 2007 suburban ltz 1500 4wd,

last night out of nowhere, my truck stopped accelerating, & inorder for me to maintain a 50-65 mpg it was making the engine rev to 5-6rpms which is alot, usually it stays at 1 or 2 rpms, & the engine is making alot of noise bc its using so much power & not even accelerating.

i have 50,000 miles, & i got an engine flush today hoping it would make a diff, but it didnt, same problem. i always put 93 octane fuel. so driving, i thought about let me see if i put it in 4wd high mode if it would do the same thing, & it did, but now the service 4wd sign jumped on,

ive always purchased suburbans, & have a 2000 with over 200,000 miles, i'm surprised at this problem in my 2007, is the tranny gone? please help thanks alot.

It could be a tranny issue or it could be an issue with the TCM not telling the tranny to shift. The service 4wd is odd. If you have any warranty left, take it into the dealer.

Something you can try is to disconnect the battery for a few minutes, then reconnect. It may reset the computer if it is that sort of issue.

THANKS ALOT FOR YOUR RESPONSES,

I disconnected the battery, & drove around for a while, & the service 4wd sign didnt reappear.

& as far as the tranny fluid is concerned, its like a pinkish brown, you can still see the pink, i intermittently every few months add lucas tranny fluid, i really wasnt able to smell the difference honestly,

i havent changed my tranny fluid as of yet &

i just checked the mileage & its a little over 54,000, all hwy miles, I'm really surprised at the tranny going, bc my 2000 god bless, hasnt had any tranny issues,

anymore advice? will gm cover this under its warranty? THANKS ALOT TO EVERYONE FOR EVEN TRYING TO HELP...

I would say it should be. A 2007 should have the 100,000mile power train warranty. I would get it in as soon as you can, because if it is the tranny in could leave you stranded soon.

ONLY OTHER REASON I WAS WORRIED ABOUT THE WARRANTY ISSUE IS BC A YR & A HALF AGO, SOMEONE HIT MY CAR, THE AIRBAG LIGHT WENT OFF, BUT THE AIRBAGS DIDNT INFLATE, SO I HAVE AN AIRBAG LIGHT, BUT THERE ISNT ANYTHING ELSE WRONG WITH THE CAR, WILL THE WARRANTY BE VALID WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON? THANKS

Not good IMO. GM can say that the lucas messed it up (if they wanted to be a**holes). Color of fluid means it was probably ran hard

Nope, I would not mention the lucas. Dont give them a reason to really check the fluid as the dealership can request to have it tested to see if it is Dexron or something else. I used to do this for a living and my best recommendation at this point would be to see what they say...simply run it in (or have it towed) and tell em about the high revving and no acceleration. they should drop the pan and see if the clutches are shot to hell. When did you buy this 'Burban?

Plan on it being down:

Rebuild: 6-12 days

Replace: 2-9 days

Either way, if it is warrantied, then GM should provide a rental for you. You will not be responsible for anything except the rental insurance (if you opt to get it).

Edit: Those days are business days, not Sat or Sun
