Key Won't Turn To Accessory Position

Just bought this truck used, and just noticed the key won't turn back to the accessory position.

Key goes in and starts it fine with no issues, but if I am parked and want to turn the key to accessory to listen to the stereo, I am out of luck.

Any ideas?

Install key, 1st click is accessory, 2nd click is ign. on 3rd is start.

Might want to read the owners manual, if you dont have one ask the previous owner os selling dealer for it.

LOL. Well that solves that big mystery.

Unfortunately it raises another, as when I turn the key forward to accessory the door warning chime won't turn off even when I have the doors fully closed. That's why I thought maybe that wasn't really the accessory position at first.

I think I have it figured out as being a problem with the Onstar module. It also says "phone not available" as soon as I unlock or open the doors. I am going to try pulling the Onstar fuse to see if that will remedy the situation without having to go get the module fixed. Unfortunately I don't have a manual so I am out of luck for now. It did come with an Onstar manual which is useless.

Back to the dealer I go!

OK, I was able to fix it. With enough searching on this site I was able to find the location of the Onstar fuse. It is labelled INFO, and is a blue 15 amp fuse. (in the under hood fuse box)

Just unplugged that fuse and now everything works as it should, door only chimes when open and accessory position works without chiming.
