does anyone knows if the 2500 rear axle fit on the 1500?

 

what else will i have to change? would i have problems with the transmission?

 

what would be the added benefits of this change?

If you change the back, you will need to swap the front to match the new lug pattern. As for benefits, there would be none if this can be done.

What is the intended purpose of doing this?

i dont have a specific purpose. but if i have to that would be lot of offroad

The 1500 axle is more than tough enough for the job. You'd be much better off upgrading shocks and maybe springs if you plan on doing a lot of offroad driving. Swapping the axle won't give you any advantage. The 2500 axle is just designed for more weight carrying capacity... but it takes more than just swapping it out to make a truck a 2500.

so guess i better upgrade the leaf springs for a pair of 6" deaver´s
