tailgate lock

Anyone know of a tailgate lock besides the poplock. I would like one that stays on the gate permanantly. I don't want to have a seperate piece to worry about. I have some expensive tools in my truck sometimes and the bed cover hides them, but I'm still worried sometimes. My buddy just got his box with his tools in it stolen last week. Luckily someone saw the guy steal it and told him. Anyways, anyone have any idea on what I want?

Roofer, check out an aftermarket store, they do make one , I can't remember who, it may be the same company that makes the hard roll-top covers, but I have seen them, they come either manual(with a key) or electric that will wire into power door locks on your truck if you want, and they are inside the tailgate lock mechanizm (invisible). They are really slick and not to pricey, I just can't remember the name. If it comes to my dead brain I'll let you know. I think, Pace Edwards is the name of the roll top mfg, not sure if they do the locks too.

The new pop locks actually mount to the existing tailgate handle and take the place of one of the interior bolts on the tailgate apparatus.

It does not have to be removed to drop the tailgate and the handle remains exposed.

Back when this site was on the other server someone posted about a lock that mounted in the bezel and came with a new bezel with a whole in it for ?. I actually e-mailed then and was planning on getting it. Now I can find the web-site address.

The name is PowerBolt. I have one on my truck and love it. It is wired into the door locks and works with keyless entry system. They run about ?.00
