Dealer just quoted me $550 to replace both, and $70 to align.

Get a quote from a reputable mechanic. You should be able to get it done cheaper. You can buy the parts yourself and do it for only be about $50 per side for quality MOOG inner tie rod parts. Alignment price is in the ballpark.
