New Truck

Hey guys I just traded in my 2002 silverado for a '07 Seirra. It has the 6.0 Vortec max. I'm a little bummed I just got my old truck tuned and put some other stuff in it, but I just couldn't pass up the vortec max. Plans include CAI, cat back, I'm thinking about a shift kit and vette servo, but I wasn't really happy with the shift kit in the '02 (1-2 shift was too hard), and of course a tune. Maybe justin from blackbear will give me a deal since i'm a returning customer and an all around good guy :happysad: . Any way here are some pics. I just got is last night and haven't had a chance to take my own so these are from the dealership. What else....umm. It has the max trailering package wit the 4.10 gears. I'm not so sure that I'm excited about this though. I don't tow a whole lot, just a 16' fishing boat every once in a while. I was hoping that with the AFM that it would get better mileage than my '02, but with the lower gears i'm not sure that it will.

And about the 4.10's...I specifically ordered my Vmax with 3.73's for the same reasons you mentioned...BUT if I were to do it again, knowing what I know now, I would have gone with the 4.10's. I have heard, and believe, you will see BETTER hwy mileage with the 4.10's vs 3.73's due to AFM staying active more (due to higher RPM's and thus, more power).

 

Once tuned, you will also see much better off-the-line power too. :happysad:

I assume you bought it used? How many miles on it? May I ask how much you had to pay for it? And what all does it have on it?

 

It has 12xxx on it. I paid 22,500, plus a little extra because I owed more on my old truck than they would give me for it, but I justified the new one at least in my head. Here is the list from the listing. I'm pretty sure that it is the SLE2 package. It has the max trailering pack with the 4.10s again and I also believe that it has an external engine oil cooler and a bigger tranny cooler. I could be way off, but I thought that I read that somewhere. and I believe that the max trailering pack also came with the z85 suspension. Is this correct?

I did not see Stabilitrak mentioned, yet I saw you have the rear disc brakes. I am assuming you do have Stabilitrak since that would be the only way you would have the rear discs.

 

And yes, all 6.0 Vmax's have the external engine oil cooler and tranny cooler.

Yes,You have an engine oil cooler,Its located in the radiator on the driver's side (If you look you'll see the oil lines going into the radiator)

You also have an external transmission oil cooler,Its located in front of the A/C condenser (Right behind the GMC emblem on the grille)

You do have the "Z85" heavy-duty/trailering suspension package.

 

I don't think you did bad for $22,500......Mine stickered for $39,040 new,and my GM employee price at the time was $34,400. with rebates I bought mine for $31,400+tax

The sad part is the last time I checked,the trade-in value of mine was only $18,500 :dunno: And I only have 15,000 miles on it.

He does Jeff,Stabilitrak is standard with the "NHT" Max Trailering Package on extended-cabs (I had to order it as a separate option on mine) And of course it was standard on all crew-cabs in '07/'08.

I did know that you had justin do your's I just didn't recognize your signiture. couple of things....first don't laugh at me, but what is stabilitrack? second. Is it true that Justin can tune the AFM so it will run in v4 mode more often?
