What Was Your First Car/truck?

What was your very first vehicle? Mine was a 1956 Cadillac Sedan de Ville I bought in 1974 with no brake lines, a frozen motor, and a kick ass interior. My very first act was to install the Craig 8-track. I worked night and day with JC Whitney parts in my driveway, a Motors manual as my guide, and a strong desire to get that back seat in action. Amazing that I got it running. I have never quite duplicated the thrill of that first ride. I paid $175 bucks for it and it hadn't run in two years. Someday I'll own another 56 Cadillac in an attempt to rekindle that first rush.

My first car was a 89 Chevy Corsica 4cyl, 5spd, bad head gasket. It had some crazy alarm on it. You had to put on the left turn signal to start it. Otherwise the horn would beep and beep, and beep. Anyway, my mom kept it for me. My older sister had dibs, but apparently she didn't know what a SWEET ride looked like and ventured out to buy her own "better car." I took it, fixed the head gasket with my dad and enjoyed it for years. It wasn't a babe magnet, but still managed to get my first action in it. I will never forget it! Lots of fun times in that car. I ended up selling it to a less fortunate kid from school my senior year of high school. I let him have it for 5 bucks! I saw it about 4 years ago still driving around...I think it had 170,000 on it when I sold it in 2001. Ran GREAT!

1981 Silverado C1500 my dad bought new after he graduated from college. Gave it to me in 1998 and I drove it until I left home for college. The truck was 3 tone brown/tan/rusted, the engine leaked about as much oil as it burned, and it had some quirks when it got cold outside. But no one could drive that truck other than me and my dad, and we both loved it. Now it's sitting in a barn waiting on me to go restore and rebuild it for him.

My first truck was our farm truck. A 1974 Ford flat bed 4X4. It had a 390ci, with 4.10 gears a 4 speed and oh yes glass packs. I loved that truck. It had a big home made brushgard. Half the year it would have a fuel tank on the back and the other half it would have a dog box. I wasn't scared to take it anywhere. I miss that truck, even though it was a ford. We used to be ford people, but thankfully we have seen the light  .

The first truck that was actually bought for me was an 89 ford ranger drove it a couple years of high school and first year of college. Then in 97 I bought my first GMC, my 1995 that I still own.

In 1982 (@ 16 years old), I bought a black 1971 Cutlass Supreme with the Olds Rocket 350 engine, Rochester Quadrajet. I bought it for $1100 with 80K miles on it from some old lady. No rally rims, just the stock hubcaps. It was in MINT condition. I put some Keystone Classics on it with 60's in the rear and 70's in the front and I had the nicest looking car in my high school. Still kicking myself in the arse for selling that car, but when you are 17 yrs old and someone flashes $2500 in your face, knowing you are doubling your money, you do stupid things.

I have a pic of it, but I would need to scan it...I should really do that...maybe tonight if I can figure my scanner out (haven't used it in years... ).

3rd car (don't ask about my 2nd car :P ) was a 1972 Buick Skylark. Mint condition with ET alum slots.

I later sold it and got my Jimmy with a EFI 350 and was living the high life. It had A/C.

My first car was a 1997 Acura Integra. Great car bought it in 2000 with 54K and sold it with about 120K in 2005. Never had any engine problems with that car whatsoever.

Mind you it's not what I wanted but it was a very nice car for a 15 year old at the time and got me from point A to point B and I got plenty of action in that car. (I really wanted a camaro but I probably wouldn't be alive right now if I had gotten one...)
