New Truck Pricing

Guys

Difficult being a noob

I have spent a fair amount of time searching on the site I am not certain that this post should be in here, that said I will throw it up for discussion and ask for forgiveness later :D . I have done some searching on new truck pricing and while I have found some info it has been very dated. After reading all about everyones new trucks I have been thinking of moving up to new.

The lease is up on mine in a couple of months so I have to pay out the residual to keep it (I have been able to get it reduced somewhat with GM). It has been a very well maintained truck with low mileage so I will keep it but the move would get me into a 5.3 vice the 4.8 (yes I know tuning might get me closer) and give me carefree miles for 5 years as opposed to the warranty up this year. Also would like a ECSB as the RCLB (Read through your abbreviations and slang) is just too small when I want to take anything that needs to be inside. Also like the idea of built in sat radio and a cooler set of wheels. :nonod:

Would like to know what kind of discounts people have been getting when they go into buy new with cash or their own financing. I don't want to kick GM while they are down but would like to get the best price possible on a new truck and get another one on the street. What kind of percentages off list have you been getting? Realize that the more options you get the more of a percentage discount you could get

Thanks guys. Feel free to let me know if this should not be in this discussion area, I will eventually learn

Expect at least $ 10k off the sticker on a new '08 full size pickup with the MSRP in the $ 25k to $ 35k range. On new '08 diesels with MSRP in the $ 40k range, they are offering up to $ 15k off.

You can do even better on new leftover '07s. Yes, there are some still around. Recently I saw a brand new '07 extended cab 2WD Duramax/ Ally 2LT package GMC Sierra truck on eBay with an opening bid of $ 25k. Nobody bid on it. The MSRP on the truck was about $ 41.5 k.

In another recent eBay auction, a brand new '07 2500HD extended cab 6.0 gas engine 4x4 LT1 Sierra went for $ 22k.

i got $10.2K off my '08 SL when i bought it two weeks ago. i believe they are revising their incentives on Jan 5th (tomorrow). not sure what will be offered at that point.

new 2008's are becoming slim pickings in my area. in fact, i can't even find a new 2008 CC for sale in my area any more.

By looking at his sig he is from Ontario, like me. We never get as good a deals as you guys do.

Did you call GMAC to get them to lower the residual buy out?

I figure that the deals would be better south of the border but it gives me an idea on what to look for. Ours are listed for more money here so it could balance out. If anything it's somewhere to start.

I had read on the web that some companies were knocking down the residuals on lease returns. Wasn't sure if GM would do this or not but the worse they could do is give me back a "no". I Know that they take a bath at the auctions on lease returns.

I called GMAC at first and they politely told me to pound sand I then went into my dealership and talked to them about it. They made the call and came back with the price. Has to be easier to give it to me for more than they get at the auction and they can wash their hands of it.

If I had to payout the listed residual I was giving the truck back as it is not what I need or want but it has been well treated and still in nice shape and it does what I need it to do. Could use more power and a larger cab then new comes with the warranty and sat radio.

I can't help you with the deals right now, but I can say that I got my 08 in the fall of 07 for $46,500. It had a MSRP of $53,800. I have a friend that works in the Oshawa plant and he got me an Executive Discount.

Any remaining 08 trucks qualify for $2000 christmas cash and $9000 if you get financed through a local lender (as opposed to GMAC). These incentives are good till Jan 10.

The 09 trucks qualify for $2000 christmas cash and $5700 financing incentive.

If you want more info check out carcostcanada.com

It will let you find out the dealer cost and incentives of new vehicles for a subscription. I bought it and have found it useful.
