Rear Seat Entertainment

Just a quick question for anyone who has an 07 NBS CC pickup. I currently have a CC with a Rear seat entertainment option, but no DVD package and you can plug headphones in and listen to something different than the driver on the radio or cd. The question is will the back speakers operate seperate if you install the DVD player from GM or do you have to always use the headphones no matter what? I thought it would do this on the Tahoe's, but I may be dreaming. The short version of this story is having two year old with headphones on does not make the wife happy.

Not with the GM device. Watching a movie in back either requires headphones and the cabin can listen to radio options, or the movie played through all speakers. With the Nav head unit, there is an option under the menu feature that allows the volume to be focused in the rear while a movie is played through the speakers, but different audio cannot be played through the front.
