Painting Bumpers On Nbs

I want to paint my front bumper and back white to match. Should I just get a paint shop to do it or prep it myself and paint it with spray cans?

paint it with spray cans? Not Recommended if you want it to look as good as the rest of the truck. I would save the money and have a reputable paint shop do it.

Thanks.

Sorry about the 20 different posts. I keep getting an error message so I thought it didn't go through.

Don't worry... It's happening a lot for some reason.

I'd take the parts off you want painted and have a body shop do it. Painting chrome is a tricky process if you want it to stay on.

They want $900.00 just to prep and paint them with me taking it off the truck.

I know that I shouldn't use cans but I did it on some doors for my Jeep and you can't tell the difference.

I do agree that the chrome is a hell of a lot tricker and have never messed with it.

I'm just getting tired of looking at the truck the way it is.

Take a look at this thread Whited Out as he had his bumper painted white. You may want to send him a PM on painting the bumper white.

But in general don't use rattle cans on your truck. Their spray isn't fine enough to give as smooth a finish as what is on your truck. It's a job for a professional paint shop.

Find another shop.

That is highway robbery. CRAZY!

A quality shop should be able to do that job for under 500 bucks...

I am wondering if they were trying to charge you for NEW painted bumper covers and everything.... That way you thought that they painted the original parts and they were taking your old parts and making money off of you...

Nope. I explained everything to them. I wish that was the case.

My brother works at a body shop and at the most I would get charged for something like that would be like $50 and everything that I have asked him to paint have been free so far...

I wanted to get my mirrors and handles painted. I'd take 'em off and everything for 'em and they still wanted $400

Good Lord............ Isnt it cheaper to buy the painted mirrors from Ebay and sell your old ones or something?
