taking off emblems

I got a few of the unwanted emblems off.  But the chevy on the rear tailgate is a bare.  What's the best way to get it off.  The old hairdryer trick?

Do you have a pre-99 with the metal banner?

If so, pick a warm day and start at one corner and just peel it off slowly.

Exactly,  Looks a heck of alot better without the LS or LT on the sides and the ones on the rear tailgate.  Only keeping the HD2500 on the sides for now.

Oh have a 2002 HD crew cab

Taking off the tailgate emblems is pretty easy. Use a heat gun or wait for a warm day.  You can use something to pry up the end of the emblem (plastic scraper) and just pull it off of the tailgate.

Use a cleaner (3m adhesive remover, etc) to clean up the left over residue.

Wax the area.

I used a high test fishing line to cut through the double sided tape, then rolled the remaining pieces off with the tip of my finger.  Just wear gloves when you do it.  I cut up my fingers a bit sommin fierce!

You can buy plastic razor blades at a parts store.  They will fit in scrapers used to scrape paint off of windows.  It still works best after parked in the sun.
