35x12.50/18 Km2 On 09 Silverado

I just bought an 09 silverado crew cab Z71. Purchased a ProComp 2.5" leveling kit today and also have some 35x1250/18 KM2 to put on it. I am hearing from some people that they will not fit without doing some extreme fender work and repainting(more than just beating the fender out or cutting it with a sawz-all.) Has anyone else done this? if they will not fit any other suggestions. i am a bfg fan but didnt want to put the AT's on the truck, guess i may have to down size tire and put the AT's on there.

Aint's happening. To fit 35s you need a 6" lift.

what about 305/60/18 KM2??

Those come out to be just under 32.5''. You should be good to go.

Eh... That's a pretty wide tire, so depending on how wide of a wheel/what offset you run, you could have some rubbing issues...

My 35's rub... The fender openings SUCK on the new trucks. I am doing some more trimming this weekend!

Sounds like another guy just wanting to get big tires to have big tires :D

Isn't that why ALL of us aren't running around on skinny OEM 17s?

I'd say it's two different things completely. There's the whole group of people that tries to cram the largest tire physically possible (and sometimes even bigger than that) on the truck just for bragging rights. Sane people put a tire on the truck that looks good, and is appropriate for the ride height. :D

Now we are the tire size police? I've seen threads many times in here wanting to know what the largest tire is that can be installed. It seems pretty common to me.

I think everything we do to our trucks is for bragging rights on some level. Otherwise we would leave them stock... instead of line-xed up to the armpits. Everybody has to like something.

True, but if he is wanting 35's, and not to be a poser means he should go offroad. Stuffing 35's on 2.5" of lift leaves NO room for flex which is very important when offroading.

This isn't really directed only at the OP, it's more at a lot of kids my age that do this. I've seen countless trucks that were complete hack jobs with tires that are WAY too big just completely crammed, hacked up fenders etc. I guess my main beef with it, is it makes the truck virtually useless. I'm just not a fan of doing things that make a truck impractical.
