I did alot of research lately on this subject. Pacesetter makes inexpensive ($500) steel longtubes for NNBS - GMT900 2wheel drive but you have to shorten the Y-pipe or your cat back to fit them. The Y-pipe is off-road, - no cats. Even coated they will eventually rust. They say a 4WD version is in the works.

Dynatechs and American Racing are full longtube stainless with cats, will never rust. The Dynatechs are shinier but the ARs have slightly longer, more equal length tubes. The ARs also have higher flow, spun stainless cats. The Dynatechs have regular, 4 bolt collectors with gaskets while the ARs have gasketless, ball and socket collectors. They both can be found for around $1200 but the ARs are said to make more power. You will need a new tune because they will both throw at least 2 codes, sometimes 4, regarding cat heatup and cat flow. The ARs are also available with either 1 3/4 tubes or 1 7/8 tubes.

FWIW, I received my ARs earlier today.

After putting a set of Dynatech longtubes on my Vette, I'll definitely be putting them on my truck as well. Great fit and finish, great torque gains and sound. They'll be my first mod once I get some time to put them on.

The Dynatechs also utilize the ball and socket (donut style gasket) connector, they aren't a typical flanged connection like you'd see on your stock exhaust. For the trucks, I wouldn't recommend a 1 7/8" primary unless you're going really big power (550 - 600+). A 1 3/4" primary will make more torque and most of the guys I know at the track are only running 1 3/4" headers on their vettes. On the 5.7L V8 in my Z, the dynatechs and the computer tune gave me 40 - 45 hp at the tires and shifted my torque curve down a few hundred rpm, so I'm curious about the kind of gains the headers will give to the trucks.

This is what the dynatechs sound like:

DanMan S, stop copying everything I do. I live in Calgary, I have a 2002 Z06 and I have a 2009 GMC 4X4.

To the OP, I bought my ARH headers from a member on another truck board. He bought 3 sets direct from ARH in New York for $1200 U.S. each.

The guy I bought My ARHs from had Dynatechs on his 2007 V-Max. He took them off and put on the ARHs. He says they fit better, look better, and most importantly, perform better.

OH SNAP! They have them for the 4x4's? NICE. Now I need to figure out of they will fit with my lift. Any chance you can take a few pics of their path underneath the truck?

J-man, I'm waiting to break my truck in before I install them, it only has 1000 miles on it. I've been driving my 2000 Silverado 4X4 to avoid getting the bottom of my new truck covered in salt and crud.

Go to the GMT900 section of "performancetrucks.net" and look at some posts there. It's a pretty slow site and there is about 3 threads w/pics on the first page. "Allgonoshow" has some good pics in his thread. :D
