Suspension Maxx Camm 2

Hey guys i got tired of thinking about my torsion keys being tightened so i decided to buy the suspension maxx torsion keys. The only thing i dont get is how turning the dial thats indexed with letters your supposed to match up with the numbers on the torsion key is supposed to change the amount raised... it looks to me you can turn it to what ever position and its the same, its kinda confusing cause it tells you where to set it for whatever height you want but whatever position you turn the dial it looks exactly the same.. Im planning on installing them tomorrow when im at work(Firefighter) and was just trying to get this figured out alittle more before i actually get under the truck. Any help explaining what i need to do would be greatly appreciated. Thank guys

sorry to tell you this but those torsion keys have the same effect as cranking on your stock keys.

Don't waste your time installing them, the only thing that'll change is how much of the adjuster bolt sticks out. The way the truck rides will stay exactly the same and you'll still wear components; neither of those will change because of different keys.

then what do i need to get to level it out? I that you(Scott) have a "RC 2' Leveling kit"... whats different about that? Thanks for the info, i already got the keys, but i guess ill just sell them on ebay or something

if you want to level it out, turn your torsion key adjuster bolts... you can probably get enough height out of the stock keys to make it level.

i however recommend against this. I did it to my 2005, cranked my keys for 1.5" of increased ride height and man did the ride suck. had to go buy a 6" suspension lift to fix it :fume:

well i have the torsion keys cranked already and have had them cranked for the past year. Ive also cranked them on all my other silverados ive had in the past and havent had any problems. I just wanted to put the new keys in cause i figured they were better for my truck and might get me alittle more than what i can get now. If i was able to raise the front alittle more than what i have now then i would add a rear leaf to raise the back up as well... I already have rear leafs aswell:)

I would just crank your stock t-bar bolts to achieve about 1-1.5" of height. The new trucks (like Scotts) have a coil-over front suspension so his 2" kit is very different then what you could use for your truck.

EDIT: Just saw that you posted right before me. I think you are maxed out man. 2" body lift maybe in your future.

oh wow, you're really crankin em aren't ya? got any pics of your angles?

IF you want to get over 2-3" out of your torsion bars, look into the cognito leveling kit. The UCA will help the upper balljoint angle and keep the UCA off of the metal droop stops. It also comes with components to beef up your steering since they'll be pretty steep too. Lower balljoint and CVs will still be at bad angles, some members have shimmed their differentials to help with CV angles. And the ride will be rough.

Thats really the only way to get over 2" of crank... but seriously, id just get a 3 or 4" suspension lift before going through all that. More money up front but at least it'll be done right: parts won't wear as bad and the ride will be somewhat retained.

Yeah i might just let the idea go:/ The torsion bars arent cranked all the way, but enough to make it sit level, I already have the procomp 6 inch suspension lift

body lift time :fume:

Hell nope haha, i had a body lift on my last Z, nothing went wrong with it but not a big fan of them really. And the most i was wanting was 1 to 2 inches front and back, but when it comes down to its not that big of a deal. I got the torsion key leveling kit along with the rear leaf's as a gift, so i can turn around and sell them and be happy with the cash
