Broken Sharkfin Antenna

So, I was pulling into my apartment complex the other evening and the gate came down and struck the roof of my truck, breaking my, what I believe is the Onstar/XM sharkfin antenna on my 07 Silverado.

It cracked through the black plastic and the antenna is exposed and looks to be cracked as well.

Does anyone have any idea what this would cost to fix? Maybe a part number for just the shark fin, not the internals?

I'm going through my lease when I get home from work to see where it talks about vehicle damages. I have a remote that opens the gate only. There is an arm infront of the gate that won't allow you to pass while the gate is raising/lowering. The arm was up, I pulled through, the gate, not the arm came down on the roof of my truck.

I figured the roof would be scraped up, but there is just a scuff from the paint on the gate and my trashed antenna

Any help appreciated!

I wish we could buy a low profile antenna for up there. One that sits flush, or close to flush. I really don't like the looks of the sharkfin up there....plus I could put a 3" lift on my truck if that fin wasn't there. I need to be able to fit in a parking garage daily and that fin sits too tall.

Let us know if you find anything, I'm sure GM will give you a replacement at an extraordinary cost.

I do a search. IIRC someone else just did the same thing.

I wish we could buy a low profile antenna for up there. One that sits flush, or close to flush. I really don't like the looks of the sharkfin up there....plus I could put a 3" lift on my truck if that fin wasn't there. I need to be able to fit in a parking garage daily and that fin sits too tall.

That's what I am afraid of...I will single handedly revive GM from their financial crisis with the purchase of a 1 of a kind sharkfin antenna

So you gotta pretty close to the height limit now with that antenna and the 2" leveling kit, not?

So you gotta pretty close to the height limit now with that antenna and the 2" leveling kit, not?

Fairly close...6'7" is the limit. I think I have about 3 inches to spare. If I knew for sure it wouldn't hit with a 3" lift kit I would consider having one. But I don't want to chance having it installed and then finding out the hard way, lol. I know without the shark fin it would fit.

There are two different designs for '07.....

1st design is with a "White" 3 cavity connector,Part#15194280

2nd design is with a "Gray" 3 cavity connector,Part#25815079

They are not cheap,They list for around $200 bucks!

Reviving an old thread here. Do you know what actually changed between the designs besides the color of the connector?

check out ebay for this. I found one for $70.00. In factory packaging...

Also, I would let the apartment complex office know as well they may pay to fix it or have thier insurance cover it....

I took mine off with my garage door. Super glued it back on about a year ago. Still on. But dealer wanted 400 with labor to replace it at the time.
