I hated to see the wreck, but I loved seeing Jr. prove Daytona wasn't a FIX.  With all the complaining after every single plate race, you'd think NASCAR would change things.  Maybe this will help, but I doubt it.  From the way they usually do things I guess there will have to be a 3 or 4 real disasters from this kind of racing before they change it.

Yeah...Quite a finish.  Our homeboy favorite Johnny Benson was running strong and then WHAM!  He gets hit in the last 1/2-lap in that big pileup.  What a bummer.  Glad no one was hurt.

The first ten laps and the last thirty laps were good. the rest of it was a real bore.

I wonder if NASCAR will change something on the plate races. Every driver that got interviewed had bad things to say about the rules.

I know of one driver who doesn't hate these rules, as a matter of fact he likes this type of racing.  Dale Jr. even said so on his post-race interview on RPM2NIGHT.  I think that has alot to do with why he runs so good at these type of races, because he likes it.  You can't go into a race hating that type of racing and expect to do good.  Rusty Wallace was pathetic at Daytona and Talladega until Buddy Baker taught him how to like the tracks a few years back, and now he runs good.  Just IMO though.

I didn't see any bit of the race, but I listened to most of it while combining.  I was really getting into it the last 50-60 laps or so, and I wasn't even seeing what was going on!  The wreck sounded like a bad one, but no one got hurt.  I have yet to see a highlight of it.

I thought it was a pretty good race.  I don't like the rules either but it is fun to watch.  I can't believe some of the guys that got through the wreck.  Mainly Gordon.  The car in front of him and behind him were in it.  Like him or not that was good driving.
