If you could have any truck any year, any price, any mod what would it be?

I have never been happier with a vehicle than my current truck. The only thing I would like to change is swapping the small block for a big block.

My dream rig is...

1965 Crew Cab, 2wd, long box. I'd definitely want a 400hp BB and auto tranny in it. Wouldn't it be cool if I could get an 8.1/Allison combo?

It would be a highway rig, so put it in the weeds and prolly extend the cab just a tick to ensure plenty of leg room in the back.

It would also need to be geared for hauling a camper or racecar trailer.

I have given this alot of thought, cuz I was maybe considering a new truck. I like the truck I have the best, because it has great power and great mileage for a fullsize. A crewcab would be nice, but worse mileage and my ext. cab is almost as big, thus counting out Ford and Dodge. I also like the '98 Z71 I had, great mileage, great power, but a smaller back seat. The only thing I would change about mine is a fourth door and maybe 4.10 gears. Besides that, a Silverado ext. cab is about THE best truck to buy IMO.

I think the best truck would be a Silverado 2500HD with a solid front axle.  I'd pay good money to buy a Silverado with that as a factory option.

I don't know.

Fighting myself between a Chevy HD 3500 CC Dually, or a Ford SD CC Non-Dually.

OR a '72 C/10 454 (I'd drop one in if I can't find 1 with a 454 in it.

I would get a Ford F350 dually diesel just because it has the front axle with the locking hubs.  If the GMC came with the same options I would definately consider it.

I would want a new GMC X-cab 1500 with a 6.0 and six speed, although the automatic would probably be OK too.  I would drop the rear 2" to level it out but still maintain load capacity.  Add pretty much all the options, including towing package.  Then I'd beef up the suspension with bigger swaybars and urethane bushings, Hypertech Power programmer,  maybe even a Vortech super charger or cam swap.  Of course, then I'd need some fatter tires on the back to hook it all up!

3/4 ton 4X4 Suburban, BIG turbo Diesel (6 spd would be nice), ARB air lockers, solid front axle, 35"  Boggers, front and rear BIG winches, leather interior w/rubber floors (no carpet), and the tailgate, god I hate the cargo doors!
