Actually it did have air bags,Its a '98 which had dual front air bags.

They way he hit that bus he didn't really have a chance anyway.

How can you tell it's a 98? I can barely tell it's a Chevy. :sigh:

I was able to tell by the picture of the rear of the truck,The tailgate has the "CHEVROLET SILVERADO" emblem on the lower right corner of it,'98 was the only year that had that (As long as it was a "Silverado" decor truck, and not a base model which still used a "CHEVROLET" decal across the whole gate)

it had to be at least a 96 since it had new mirrors and in 97 they started airbags... but still i dont know if a newer truck would have saved his life or not... if his truck sat higher it would have helped out a TON

Actually....They started using the newer mirrors in '94 on trucks with the "ZM9" package,Then used them pretty much across the board in '95.

And the first year for driver side air bags was '95,'97 was the first year for dual air bags.

did not know that ... but actually your right on the mirrors in 95... i didnt know about them starting it in 94 though..

Yep,But.....You had to have the "ZM9" package to get them,And they were not power adjusting,Basically they were/are the same mirrors that are on your truck but manual adjusting.

The "ZM9" package was the leather package that GM offered,It included...Leather seating sufaces with bucket seats w/6-way power driver seat adjuster, center floor console, full overhead console,self-dimming inside rearview mirror w/compass,keyless entry system, bedliner, and pinstriping.

It also deleted the bright wheel opening moldings and aluminum applique on the tailgate in favor of a decal that was Black and said "CHEVROLET" in Gold.
