IMO fear mongering is playing a major role in this "crisis".... People hoarding their money and not spending it is the nail in the coffin.

interesting, I think I will bury my money and stick my in the mattress, or something like that...

His point is not to bury your money, next year it wont be worth more than the dirt around it. Buy Gold with it NOW , then bury the gold.

.... I wasn't replying to his post about burying his money (that's why I didn't quote him)... I was giving my opinion as a general statement on the crisis.

Interesting video. While it is true that sensationalistic media is not helping an already panicky public. He does make good points though. Trying artificially stimulate an economy by pumping in hoards of cash is a recipe for disaster and can result in a global devaluation the currency. It's happened many times in other countries. When a currency is devalued it can result in excessive inflation rates in the originating country. The difference right now is that the various financial markets are so integrated and there is so much foreign investment that other countries cannot afford to have the US currency devalued otherwise they risk financial collapse themselves. This would then cause a global financial collapse. So the US currency value is being artificially being kept alive by all the foreign investment nations to avoid their own financial collapse.
