Need Brake Advice! (air In System Or Other Problem?)

2005 Silverado Z71

Changed my rear brake shoes (Drums)...while installing new shoes ended up pushing one half of the plunger and spring out. Slid the spring and plunger back in and got the bastard big spring on. Went to back the truck out and the peddle goes to the floor.

$#@Q%@...figured no big deal..got air in the lines when the plunger came out of the cylinder. While I was at it I had a set of like new calipers and rotors I bought of a wrecked truck with like 5k miles on them a few years back. Figured if I have to bleed the lines because of the miscue on the back I'll just change the front rotors, calipers, and pads. So I did. Went to bleed the brakes started in the back pass side and moved around the way you should. Pedel still not hardly there. Did it again. Pedel still not hardly there. Figured ABS module might be the issue. Went out on the gravel road and did a little 'Ricky Bobby' action to lock up the wheels and activate the ABS...did that about 5 times.

Pulled the truck back into the garage and bled all 4 again. Still not a good pedel!

What's strange when the truck is running if you pump the brakes a few times you get a good pedel but wait a few minutes and spoung again. Checked both front calipers for leaks (saw none) Even removed the lines from them to make sure they were seated correctly...they were. Check the rear cylinder for leaks...none found.

PLEASE HELP! I really don't want to admit defeat and take it to the STEALERSHIP!

Any advice is appreciated!

ussually when you get air behind the abs valve you need a tech 2 to activate the abs pump to get the air out.

Are you sure you have the shoes adjusted correctly? Madke sure the rear self adjuster is where it should be. if the rear shoes haven't been seated correctly you'll have problems.

Emergency brake works good...just to be sure pulled off rear drums to check, and all looks good.
