Another Leveling Question

Hey, i have been looking everywhere and have been reading a lot of different opinions. People are saying that the readylift really doesn't level their truck.. My ground to fender measurements are around- 38.75 for the rear, 36.50 for the front. That's around a 2.25 inch difference. Would the readylift bring my front end up 2.5 inches?

My other option was to buy the bilstein shocks that have the adjustable ring on it to bring the front up to a max of 2.5inch lift.

I didnt really want to go through all the trouble of swapping the shocks and taking them in to get the spring compressed and what not.

Basically im just looking to make it around .5 higher in the front or dead level.

Thanks i look forward to hearing your opinions and personal experience.

I measured the readylift 2.25" kit after it was installed and it was 2.5" taller at the front bumper.Personally I think it could be a little lower still than level.Kit was also very spendy for 4 pieces of recycled beer cans

Hey, I am considering the RC leveling kit.. Is it true that the Readylift acually doesnt level the truck? Im really trying to make sure its perfectly level no rake as i dont tow anything and haul minor things. Is there any downsides to the RC kit? i have read about some other people have problems such as their steering shaft clunking and what not like the older gmt800's did.

Thanks again for all the help.

I don't know anything about the Readylift kit,But I can tell you that after I installed my RC 1.5" kit my truck seemed to sit just a tad higher in the front then in the rear,so I installed a 1" rear-lift block and now it sits level, check out pictures of it in the "My Garage" link in my sig.!

Hey, Thanks guy i went ahead and ordered the RC kit!..ill probably match that with the bilstein shocks later on for a better ride.

Ill post pictures of the install and before and after pictures. One quick question about the install.. I have read all about it,but do you really have to remove the spindle from the balljoint??

Thanks

Hey, Thanks man.. Will do it the easy way instead of trying to not take things apart. Do you have any pictures of your truck with the kit installed?

Thanks

Thanks man, Looks perfect!.

Im hoping it looks okay since my tires are semi new still! im running NITTO Terragrapplers 265/70/R17's. I may end up dropping 700$ On some 285/70/R17s. which is a 32.76 inch tire 11.50 wide. My current ones are 31.57x10.79.Has anyone heard of the mysterious steering shaft clunk that happens sometimes on the GMT900s? I have heard people are running into this problem while installing a leveling kit on their trucks.

Thanks

Can't pass up the opportunity to show off my truck.... Pic in my sig is with RC installed, and Firestone Destination AT 285/70/17 tires, which are about 32.5". It is pretty close to level - rear is just a tad higher.

That looks perfect, I just ordered mine yesterday. I hopes it's as easy to install as what i'm reading.

In the thread I posted, I am running my stock tires there. I think they look fine.

You might consider having a local tire/alignment shop do the install. I got mine installed and aligned for $110. Either way you'll love how it looks after!
