BoyInaChevyTruck Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 First off I have a 07 nbs silverado. The factory radio is just the single cd, no 6 disc, no nav. I was looking on crutchfields website to upgrade the speakers in the truck (crew cab). They asked whether I had bose or not. How do I tell? option code? jay
DofD Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Yeah, on the radio or speaker grills it will say Bose.
BoyInaChevyTruck Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 When I had my 05 avalanche it had "bose" on the speaker grills. I wasn't sure If they did it or not with the nbs. Thanx
sssmokin99 Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I have done this in my '05 Sierra (reg cab). Replaced factory speakers with Alpine 6.5" in doors and 4x6's behind seat. Makes a world of difference. the next step is to add an amplifier, since the new speaks work better with a bit more power than the head unit can provide- really a pretty simple project that improves the sound 100%...
marcel08gmc Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 i have the 07 gmc nbs crew cab to and i had the same question the tweeters cover do not say bose so i figured i never had bose then i did a navigation install of a unit that need bose (i what to play dvds) so install a aftermarket amp and speaker like i need and when pulling everthing apart i noticed that the speakers say bose so i installed the head unit first just to make sure it had bose and it all work perfect so my truck has bose but the speaker covers don't say!!!!! told the dealer he say if you bought a first couple shippment of truck that thay got never that the speaker cover that said bose on them, a couple of people came back with the same question so he said he would make apointment for me, after check my truck and make sure that it was bose which he did! WIERD!!! Thanks M
