I tried putting some of that stuff on the in-laws Sante Fe and it was to thick to bend to the contours on the hood. It might work on the flatter area of your rocker. It's basically thick packing tape, so you really only get one try to put it on.

I'd read where you could use a soapy water mix to wet the entire area down so it could move around. Did you try that?

I watched the detail guy put on my clear bra and they did not go around the contours. They said that creates nothing but problems with edges peeling and such. I'd just planned on going right up to the edge.

Never heard of that brand, but 3m is the best. In order to put that on properly, you need to remove any waxes on the body panel, dust dirt etc. Then depending if there are any curves to the panel, get two water bottle sprayers, fill both with water, one a few drops of dishwasher soap, the other with 30/70 30 of isoprohol alcohol. Get a good squeegee (got mine off ebay) with a felt end on it. If you have a flat panel you dont need the alcohol. After the panel is clean, spray liberally the body panel, spray your hands so you dont get fingerprints on the clear material, peel and position and squeegee off the water from the material and let dry. If you have compound curves, the isoprohol alcohol combo is for the ends, and helps adhere it to the body panel. I did all my panels myself and didnt need to pay someone else to do it. Just take your time.

Soapy water, or a auto shine lube works well on material that sticks as it dries (kind of like rub on tattoos). This trimbrite stuff is already sticky on it's backside (like packing tape), so water doesn't help.

I ordered 36 feet of both clear and black to see which one looks best. It had free shipping so the extra didn't really cost that much.

The installation instructions state you can use soapy water so I'm going to try it for sure. Rather than install it all at one I'll just cut it in sections and try it. If the water doesn't work I'll try something else.

Trimbrite has been around for a long time as a company. I haven't tried this particular product but have used some of their other stuff with success.
