07-09 Dash/stereo Removal

OK, how the hell do I get into the dash of an 07-09 silverado? Do I have to take the entire dash pad off? I searched this forum and the "how to" forum and found nothing. Maybe I don't know what I am looking for. lol

so the fake wood trim around the stereo just pops off?

Sure does. Its going to feel like its going to snap at any minute but just keep pulling. After that I think its only 8 bolts to get the radio completely removed.
