Tpms

Question

Posted

After several failed attemps to re-learn tire positons, finally got it to work, only half way.... locked at pass.rear tire. Now the check engine lite is on, and says TPMS needs service. Do I have to get this re-set, or can I try again to relearn tire pos's?

Help!!

You can start over and try again. My advice is to let air out for 8-10 seconds and then just wait. I have had to wait up to 20 second for the horn to signal the learn for a tire, then move on to the next.

If you are still having problems, any decent tire shop will have a tool to make this a snap. Also, the dealer will have a similar tool and if they aren't a-holes like my dealer, they'll probably help you out. Less than a minutes worth of work with the hand held tool.

I've found, when re-programming to let the air out slow and longer than fast and short to get the confirmation beep.
