Lifting A 2009 2500hd Stl

I had a 2003 lifted 2500hd , 6" fabtech, 285 16 , extended long box. Reprogramed

 

I am up grading to a 2009 2500HD crew , 6.0 ltr, auto, 6.6 box, slt.

 

I am putting a 6" ProComp lift, and want to get larger tires from the 265 70R 17 that are on it.

 

Can I go to a 315 70 17 on the stock rims.

 

Any other things I should now about the lift, tires , chipping vs programing.

 

How do you set the computer to recognize the larger tires.

 

Any experience or ideas greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a GORGEOUS truck! The 315's will be fine on the stock wheels, but check with Procomp on the backspacing as they may not work with the lift. I would not mess with a handheld programmer. I would look into Blackbear Performance tune. He will be able to re-adjust everything and make your truck run A LOT better.
