92 Suburban Wont Idle

I have a 1992 Suburban that until last week, I used to drive everyday. I shut it off one day and a few hours later started it back up to leave. Now for some reason it has developed a bad miss and will not idle without help, in or out of gear. it also acts like it is starving for fuel when you try to rev the engine. The other day I went over to work on it and found that if you turn the steering wheel back and forth it will find a spot and run fine, the second you trun the wheel again it goes right back to not idleing. In all my years I have never seen or heard of steering affecting the performance of the engine. Any Ideas. Thank You very much
