ScooterInMN Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 So I took my '05 in for the tranny fluid change, and a check engine light since she was idling really rough. Turns out my O2 sensor needed replaced. When the tech called me with the news, he told me that there was a very important update available to the computer. He said that it would help with mileage and a little HP. Has anyone heard of this "upgrade"?

Has anyone heard of this "upgrade"? Ask them to provide you with the changes the update makes. If they can't tell you/don't know/act oblivious tell them "no thanks". I doubt they will, as I am sure they also want to CHARGE you to update the pooter..... OR, if they are doing this as part of a service bulletin they found, ask for the number and find a trusted individual with access to such things and ask them to show you what it is desingned to accomplish. I don't think it is unreasonable for you to ask their service manager to let you read the documentation regarding this update....
