Avalanche Vs Yukon/tahoe

Okay folks, for those that have had both I need some help.

I had an '03 Yukon which I loved very much and traded out of for all the wrong reasons. Now I'm convinced I'll never be happy in my Sierra crew cab.

I was seriously looking at only Suburbans and Yukon XL (strictly for the extra luggage room) but I got a good look at an Avalanche today and must say, WOW, they've come a long way.

Have you gone between an Avalanche and a Yukon/Tahoe,burb (either way)? Will I be happy in an Avalanche if my goal was getting back in the SUV? Is the Avalanche just a spiced up crewcab ( I have a Sierra crew).

I'm really interested in the LTZ package and right now the Yuk/Hoe/burb is about $10K out of my desired range. Would I be better off going the extra $10K? My intended use for the vehicle is to cart my old, weary a$$ around and really nothing more. I referred to my '03 Yukon as my private limo and that's what this one would be for?

What do you think. Will the Avalanche make me happy or am I just wasting $$ on it and only going half way?

Thanks in advance

If you want an SUV buy an suv I like the avelanches bc its an SUV with a bed but if you dont need the bed space just go with an SUV.

I suppose it's all about either "indoor" or "outdoor" cargo space, since essentially all the Avalanche amounts to is a Suburban with the rear roof chopped out... same chassis underneath.

These new GMT900's are light years ahead of the previous GMT800's. Why are you unhappy with the Sierra? I'm not sure why you would want to go from that to an Avalanche. Personally, I would rather have the pickup as I have heard the Avalanche is prone to squeaks and rattles with the mid-gate. Also, after they get a few years old all that black plastic on the outside turns grey (down here in the FL sun anyway.) The Avalanche is a little shorter in length than a crew cab/ short bed. It's a Suburban basically. But if it's an SUV you are after, my personal choice would be the Yukon or Tahoe.

I have an '08 Avalanche and my wife drives an 04' Yukon. Both are nice. It depends if you really need a bed. I would never use my wife's Yukon to carry sod or topsoil. But, if you need a 3rd row seat or space, get the Yukon/Tahoe.

Before I got the Avalanche, I was looking at the Sierra. I wanted a lockable bed and the options to convert to fullsize bed if I need to. Plus, I didn't have to get a bedliner. So, I was sold on the Avalanche.

Not all trucks are perfect as we already know. I live in sunny Florida and the plastic cladding around the bed already have shades of gray. The top cladding was replaced last year cause the plastic started to bow up. I have no issues with squeaks or rattles (knock on wood). Also, the bed is not 100% waterproof. But overall, I am happy with the Avalanche. It really depends on what you want or if you need a bed. I think they are all nice Trucks & SUVs.
